What is API Management?
API Management is the process of creating and publishing web APIs. This API Management process covers: enforcing API usage policies, controlling access, subscriber community features, collecting and analyzing usage statistics, and reporting on performance.

What is Microsoft Azure?
It is a cloud computing service created by Microsoft for building, testing, deploying, and managing applications and services through Microsoft-managed data centers.
It provides software as a service (SaaS), platform as a service (PaaS) and infrastructure as a service (IaaS) and supports many different programming languages, tools, and frameworks, including both Microsoft-specific and third-party software and systems.

Windows for Containers: Image size reduced by 40% in latest 1709 update

A lot of cool things are happening in the container space for Windows Server

Windows Server Update 1709 brings stuff like:

Improved networking support for Kubernetes and DockerSwarm’s routing mesh
Support for global SMB mounts
Linux containers with Hyper-V isolation
And last but not least: the images size for the Windows Server Core container image is reduced from 5GB to 3GB – that’s a 40% reduction

So how does this fit into Azure, you might ask?

The new Windows Server Core images are still not supported in Azure Container Instances, but hopefully, they will soon.

The other members of the Azure container ecosystem I haven’t tried out yet, but I will very soon!
